Since July of 2021, Nix Companies has been working on expanding their Custom Fabrication Shop on Frontage Rd., north of Poseyville to add greater crane capacity, taller headroom, and more production space. The Pre-Production Team (estimating & engineering) relocated to Frontage Road in October for better office space and also to be closer to the work they are supporting. In the last week, the new crane was placed in the facility. The crane is named after the 4th generation owner, Charles William Nix (Bill). This addition is something Matthew, Nix Companies President, has dreamed of for 18 years. When Matthew started in 2004, their shop didn’t even have a 1 ton crane; just one old forklift. The new runway is designed to have two 25 ton bridges that will lift in tandem, giving them some of the largest capacity in the region! Talk about #ForgingAhead!
