Celebrating 60 Years of Kaiser Aluminum Warrick
Today, we celebrate 60 years since Kaiser Aluminum Warrick’s first shipment of finished aluminum coils—nearly 57,000 pounds delivered on November 18, 1964, marking the plant’s official entry into the aluminum industry.
Originally built by ALCOA in Warrick County, the plant was designed to meet growing demand for aluminum beer cans, which were rapidly replacing steel. Operations began in 1964 with the first Cold Mill, followed by further expansions, including the facility’s first coating line in 1968.
For six decades, Kaiser Aluminum Warrick has been a cornerstone of the community and a leader in aluminum innovation. Thousands of employees and unwavering local support have contributed to its success.
Kari Fluegel, Communications and External Affairs Manager, reflects:
“For the past six decades, thousands of people in this community have contributed to the success and longevity of the Warrick Rolling Mill. Though our owners have changed over the years, the support we have received has never wavered, and for that, our team is truly thankful. We are looking forward to our next 60 years.”
As we honor this milestone, we celebrate the vision, hard work, and innovation that have defined Kaiser Aluminum Warrick’s enduring legacy.
