Plan consultant offers public sessions and online surveys to gather community aspirations
The Evansville Regional Economic Partnership (EREP) and the Downtown Evansville Economic Improvement District (EID) are hosting a series of public open houses throughout Southwest Indiana to be led by the Ohio River Vision and Strategic Plan lead consultant Sasaki. The sessions will gather community members’ knowledge, ideas, and aspirations for the Ohio Riverfront. An online survey is also now open, to gather additional information needed for the Plan.
“For almost a century, in plans and studies of all types, our community has demanded improvements to ‘activate the river.’ We’re thrilled to learn the hopes and preferences of the entire region, then work with Sasaki to see a design plan come to life that is active, attainable, and sustainable,” said Candace Chapman, EREP Director of Downtown Development. EID President Josh Armstrong added, “Sasaki and their subcontractors are also convening experts in all fields to produce a transformational plan with tactics for its implementation, but the public’s input is critical as well.”
The public input sessions are scheduled for:
- July 13th from 10:00-11:00am at The Landing located at 111 E Water St. Suite 107, Mt. Vernon.
- July 13th from 2:00-3:00pm at Honeymoon Coffee located at 20 W. Water Street, Newburgh.
- July 14th from 3:00-7:00pm at The Pagoda, Riverside at Cherry St., in Downtown Evansville
The online survey is available at www.orvsp.nudge.sasaki.com, and will be open through Friday, July 21.
“We know the Plan will deliver a path leveraging the Ohio Riverfront to accelerate economic and population growth while attracting the talent our businesses need to thrive,” said Armstrong.
