The Evansville Region is making waves in talent attraction, welcoming 129 new residents across 55 households in just two years. Through strategic efforts to attract new residents, we’re strengthening our economy, enriching our communities, and building momentum for even greater success in the years ahead.


A Look at the Numbers (2023-2024)

  • 55 new households, 129 individuals now call Evansville/Vanderburgh County home.
  • 45% of newcomers (25 households) had no prior connection to the region, bringing fresh talent and economic growth.
  • 42% purchased homes locally, further embedding themselves in the community.
  • 55% were returnees, proving Evansville remains a place people are proud to call home.
  • New residents relocated from 21 different states, including New York, California, Texas, Massachusetts, Tennessee, and Arizona—showcasing our national appeal.
  • The average wage of incoming talent is $120,875, demonstrating the program’s role in boosting regional prosperity.

Looking Ahead: 2025 and Beyond

Building on this success, we are fully focusing our 2025 efforts on attracting remote workers to the Evansville region through our Belong Here program. By bringing in skilled professionals who can work from anywhere, we’re ensuring that Evansville remains a top choice for talent looking for affordability, community, and opportunity.

Our 2025 goal: Relocate 50 remote workers and their families to Evansville—strengthening our workforce and boosting economic growth.
