Become a Nextech Catapult this summer and be the next generation of Nextech Catapult. Nextech Catapult is an immersive summer computer science bootcamp for 48 rising high school juniors and seniors who aspire for a career in technology. Taking place from June 13 – July 8, 2022 in the Indianapolis area and Evansville area (24 students in each location), participants will develop technical skills, create authentic peer relationships, improve workplace readiness, create plans for post-secondary success, and develop deep roots for a lifelong personal and professional connection to Indiana. Students should expect to spend from 9:00am-4:00pm each day in the program, Monday through Friday. Application deadline is March 14th.
You would be the lead teacher in a classroom of 24 students and technical interns that have previously completed the Nextech Catapult program. You must be licensed to teach Computer Science in the state of Indiana. You would teach the predetermined HTML, CSS, and Javascript curriculum and will assist with the facilitation of post-secondary and career readiness curriculum during the program. The course aligns to Computer Science II and Computer Science III: Special Topics and focuses on the foundations of computer science, front-end web development, and computer science career exploration. The instructor will also lead the students in the creation of a website portfolio that includes projects from the curriculum, interwoven throughout the 4 weeks.

Nextech Catapult is taught by a licensed Indiana computer science teacher and meets the standards for both Computer Science II and Computer Science III: Special Topics. Students can work with their high school’s guidance departments to determine the best way to award course credit for completing Catapult. Nextech is happy to help however we can.
